No more jackets

I think it is safe to say that you will no longer be seeing anyone wearing jackets for the rest of the summer. The weather has been pretty great for the last couple of days and everybody is loving out. Everyone seems so excited about finally being able to go outside after being cooped up in the dorms for the whole winter. Saturday almost everybody seemed to be at the beach. This was the first weekend where I didn't worry about doing any homework, I was too busy outside enjoying the day. Last night I tried to go to the library for a little while but that didn't work out too well. Hopefully I can get back into school mode for the next couple of weeks and focus on studying for my finals.

laundry

The laundry situation in Christensen is pretty bad. I went down there this morning and all the washers were taken up except for one. I was going to use it but a girl that was in there told me I shouldn't use it because it was broken. Apparently there had been a huge puddle in front of it. So I ended up having to wait about half an hour to start my laundry and when I took it out of the washer, it was soaked. So apparently there a a few washers that are broken. While I was taking my clothes out there was another girl complaining about how soaked her clothes were too. I put my clothes in the dryer for 45 minutes and when I went down to take it out, they were still wet. So I had to start the dryer again, and hopefully when I go down this time, they will be dry.

Barcelona

Today was the second leg of the Champions League semi-final between FC Barcelona and Inter Milan. Inter won the first game 3-1 so Barcelona had to score two and make sure Inter did not score at all in order to win and go on to the final. Unfortunately Barcelona could only manage to score one goal so Inter will be headed to the final at the Santiago Bernabeau Stadium in Madrid, Spain to face FC Bayern Munich. I was really hoping that Barcelona would be able to make it to their second final in a row but that won't be happening anymore. One of my life goals is to go to Spain and watch Barcelona play at their home stadium. Their stadium is one of the biggest in the world with a capacity of almost 100,000. I have been to a stadium where there were 80,000 people at the game but I think with 20,000 more people the atmosphere at the game would be much different.

Peer Advising

Today I have my last peer advising session. I am pretty glad that I don't have to do it again next semester because I kind of thought it was a waste of time. The only thing that I really found useful was that we had to make our schedule pretty early because our adviser had to sign off on it. Other than that though I didn't really get too much out of it. The assignments that we had to do were kind of stupid and not really that necessary they pretty much just gave me another thing to add to do to my to-do list. We only met every other Tuesday but it would always seem like the day of my advising period I would have the most to do and I would kind of have to rush everything in order to make sure I was ready of peer advising.

Girl Talk

Tomorrow I am going to wait in line to buy tickets to Girl Talk who is scheduled to be coming here on May 7th. Hopefully I will not have to wait in line for too long but I don't think that will be too much of a problem. I don't feel like Girl Talk is really that popular here at UNH and the fact that Sam Adams is coming here on the same day might keep the lines a little short. I am excited for the concert though. I have heard some of the stuff that Girl Talk has put together and I think it's pretty good. I looked up some of his concerts on youtube and they look really cool. They are basically crazy dance parties with a light show to match. I think the concert will be a pretty good time.

Wasting Time

I hate the feeling when you wake up late on a Friday and then you feel like you waste the rest of the day. I had some work to do today, not enough that I won't be able to catch up but I could have gone to the library and got it done in order to free up the rest of my weekend. Instead I kind of just hung out today. I went to the gym, played some basketball, and hung out with my friends. Now I am planning on spending most of the day in the library tomorrow to catch up on my homework. Hopefully I don't get up too late and make the same mistake as today

The Pool Room

Most days me and a couple of my friends go to the MUB and play pool after lunch if we enough time. Basically it is a time to relax a little bit and forget about the stresses of class and college life in general. It is surprising how good of a stress reliever it is. It is just a simple game but as soon as we get in that room we just all start relaxing a little bit more. We usually say we are just going to play a couple of games but we usually end up staying for an hour or two. We aren't that good but I guess we all just like to compete against each other no matter how trivial the game is.

Today

Today was the most relaxing day I've had all week in terms of workload. My MIS project was due this morning so that was out of the way and the only big assignment that I had too worry about was the response paper which wasn't bad at all because I cam up with an idea for it pretty easily. It has been kind of a long day though because I had to get up at 6:15 am for soccer tryouts at 6:45 am. Today was the last day that I would be trying out and I think I did pretty well. I don't really have any idea whether or not I am going to make it though because I was kind of all over the place at the first few practices. I hadn't played for a while so I felt kind of rusty through out the tryouts and I could only tryout two of the four days every week because of class. I think I should be finding out by next week though so we'll see what happens.

4/20

Tomorrow is 4/20 and there are quite a few people that seem pretty excited. All over campus the NORML organization have been chalking up the sidewalks with marijuana plants and ads telling students to go to the T-hall lawn tomorrow to get rid of their munchies. I'm guessing that there will be free food there so I'll probably end up going there even though I won't be partaking in any of the traditional 4/20 celebrations. It definitely would be fun I'll admit and I'm sure most of the campus will be blazed out of their minds tomorrow, but I just have to much work to do tomorrow and on top of that I have another soccer tryout Wednesday morning at 6:45 am.

Home for the Weekend

This weekend I decided to go home for a couple of days. I think I picked a good weekend to come home because the weather is kind of sucky. I'd rather be inside for most of the day in my own house than in my dorm room or in the library. On the ride home it was pouring and there was even some snow once we got to about exit 12 on 89 north. I am basically planning on getting some homework done and relaxing a little bit before the last three stressful weeks of school. I'll probably actually be able to get some work done this weekend since it's not so nice out and the weather won't be a distraction.

Intramural Soccer

Every Thursday night at 7:30 I play on a co-ed intramural soccer team. We have had two games so far and next week the playoffs start. The first game we won 3-1 against a team that was pretty good and the second game we won 8-0, the team we played was considerably less than the first game. We play on the new fields behind the field where the soccer teams play their game. The fields are brand new and they are really nice. They are astro turf fields and they have lights on them. It's been a lot of fun playing on them and I just wish that we played more than one game a week.

The New Gym Setup

Since the beginning of the second semester, the Whittemore Center gym has had a new setup, and new free weights. It still gets just as crowded as ever and it should definitely be expanded, but the new layout makes it seem just a little bit roomier and more comfortable. What basically happened is that all of the free weights and benches got moved around to create a little more space to walk around in. The free weight rack that used to be in the middle of the room got replaced by two new racks that were put on either side of the room and the benches were put in between. This allowed for there to be more space in between the benches so you can move around a little bit easier. Like I said before though it still definitely has to be expanded because when it gets busy it gets really hard to grab an open bench or an open pair of weights.

Late Nights

I have a feeling that for the rest of school I am going to have quite a few late nights filled with studying. Today I was at the library for pretty much the whole day studying for my Ecology & Values test and working on my project for MIS. In the next couple of weeks I have the MIS project due, an MIS test, the E & V test, and probably another Economics test pretty soon. Hopefully it won't become to stressful and I'll be able to manage all the work. I am planning on going home this weekend so I can get away from the weekend distractions and get some work done.

Schedules

Today I had to pick out my schedule for next semester. I had to hand it in to my peer adviser which is why I had to pick it out so early. I am taking Business Stats, Accounting, Law and Society, and Global Environmental Change next semester. It's going to be a kind of challenging semester because from what I've heard there is quite a bit of work in those classes. I made sure to look up all the professors on ratemyprofessors.com before I chose my classes though and hopefully I get the schedule I want because all the professors are supposed to be pretty good.

Lionel Messi

On Tuesday night Barcelona played Arsenal in their second leg of the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. Barcelona went on to win the game 4-1 and the series 6-3. The headline of the game was not the score though, it was all about Lionel Messi. The Argentinean forward scored all four goals for Barcelona. The day after the game everyone involved in the soccer media wrote how they no longer had words to describe his play. I think it was best summed up by his national coached, Diedo Maradon who in his time was considered the best in the world. Maradona said that Messi is currently, "playing kick-about with Jesus," and I think it's true. Messi has been playing like a god and as I soccer fan I hope that he continues to play like this for a long time because it is simply amazing to watch.

80 and sunny.

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day. It made want summer to come even that much faster. I was planning on going to the library today to work on my analysis and study for an economics test but instead I decided to play some basketball and throw a football around with some of my friends. It was just too nice out to pass it up. I did end up getting to the library at around six o' clock and I have been here ever since so I was still able to get most of the work done that I wanted to. Tomorrow is supposed to be kind of crappy compared to today, which is actually kind of a good thing, because now I won't fell the need to skip the library again.

Housing

This week I have to sign up for where I want to live next year. I am trying to get a double with my friend and hopefully we will get one of the dorms that we want. It doesn't look very promising though because apparently in the dorm we want to live in next year there are only eight double rooms opening. Neither of us got very good priority numbers either so our chances of getting a hall that we want aren't very good. Hopefully everything will work out for us and we won’t get stuck somewhere that we don’t want to have to live in.

Time to Concentrate

I went home for Easter last weekend and now I'm back at school. The weekend at home was really relaxing. The weather was great so I outside most of the time, and I tried to do a little bit of homework. No there are only five weeks left of classes and it is really time to buckle down and focus on my schoolwork. I'm still not exactly where I want to be with my grades but I think I still have a pretty good chance to get them back up to where I want them to be. As long as I prioritize and make sure I spend more time in the library studying I think I should be able to get the GPA that I want.

Right On Time

It's 11:37 am and I just realized that I haven't posted on my blog yet. After a couple of days of forgetting to post a few weeks ago I put a note on my bulletin board that simply said "BLOG."
It hasn't really helped me much though. I still forget to post every once in a while and when I do remember it isn't because of the note, I just seem to randomly remember. Maybe I need to start training myself to write a new post at the same time everyday in order to make sure I do it everyday. I think that from now on I am going to start posting right before I go to lunch, which is at about one in the afternoon. I'm never really doing anything at that time anyway, usually just on facebook or watching TV or something.

6 weeks left

I'm getting a little bored writing just about the upcoming World Cup this summer so I've decided to throw some random posts into my blog every once in a while. So pretty much since we've gotten back to school everything has been pretty much the same. This rain sucks and I keep getting a lot of work in all of my classes. My grades aren't exactly as good as they were last semester so I'm going to have to step it up in the next few weeks to try to get them to where I'd like them to be. I've also decided that I am going to try out for the soccer team and the first try-out is tomorrow morning. It starts at 7:30 am so I won't be able to make it because of English class but there is another one on Wednesday at 7 am so I am going to go to that one. I think there are about 5 other kids trying out so I guess I'll just have to see how things go.

World Cup Teams- South Korea

South Korea is a team that I really like to watch play. To the average fan they wouldn't really seem like much of a threat but after the 2002 World Cup, which they hosted, South Korea can be considered a team that might cause an upset or two. At the 2002 tournament they made it all the way to the semi-finals and after a relatively disappointing showing in 2006, they are looking to repeat that success. When they competed as the hosts in 2002 they had, as expected, great crowd support which seemed to help them a lot. They have great team chemistry and they will be relying on that to take them through the tournament.

World Cup Teams- Nigeria

Personally I hope Nigeria does well at the tournament since it is the first time it is being held in Africa, but unfortunately I don't think that they are going to make it very far. The Nigerian team has some great strikers but their defense is pretty weak for a World Cup team and the fact that they have to play Argentina makes that even worse. I think they will be able to make it out of the first round because of their talented strike force but after that, they are most like to go out in the round of sixteen due to their weak defense.

World Cup Teams- Argentina

Today I am going to talk about the Argentinian National team. Argentina is considered one of the favorites to win the world cup and for very good reasons. They are a very exciting team to watch and that is because of their star players up front and in the midfield. There are two reasons that make Argentina one of the favorites and their names are Gonzalo Higuain and Lionel Messi. These two strikers have been in absolutely amazing form over the past two seasons. They play with arguably the two best club teams in the world, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. They are two of the top scorers in the Spanish League and they are expected to continue with their great goal scoring form this summer.

Gold Cup

In my last post I said that I went to the Gold Cup Final and in this post I am going to write more about that. I went to the game last summer at Giants Stadium with my dad. The final was between Mexico and the USA and it had, as expected been sold out. I was really excited to go see the game because I knew the game would be exciting. On the way down my dad and I talked about which team was going to have more fans. We both that that it would be about half and half but as we got to our seats and the stadium started filling up, we could see that we had clearly been wrong. The stadium was filled with fans wearing red, white, and green and probably a couple thousand Mexican flags. There must have been 80,000 Mexican fans there and maybe 5,000 American fans. During the first half the game was pretty good with a few good chances for each side. Then in the second half everything changed. About fifteen minutes after the restart Mexico was awarded a penalty kick. The stadium went quiet as Gerrado Torrado ran up to take the shot. As the ball hit the net the stadium exploded. Everyone was out of their seats yelling and screaming with joy. I had never experienced anything like it before but I would get the chance four more times. The final score was 5-0 Mexico and even after the fifth goal was scored everyone reacted like it had been the first. Going into the game I did not know which team to root for but after that first goal it was easy to decide. The game may have been in New Jersey but 80,000 Mexican fans made me feel like I was sitting in the Azteca Stadium in the middle of Mexico City.

World Cup Teams- Mexico

Mexico is the last team in Group A. Mexico is going to be an interesting team to watch at the tournament. They almost didn't make it to the finals, leaving it to the last two games of the qualifying round to secure their qualification. Since then though they have hired a new coach, Javier Aguierre, and they have been playing very well ever since, including a 5-0 win against against the USA in the Gold Cup final at Giants Stadium, which I was at. Mexico are going to have a very dynamic team at the World Cup this summer with a good mix of experienced and young players. Two players that will have the most responsibility are Rafael Marquez and Cuauhtemoc Blanco. Marquez will lead the defense against some of the world's best strikers. Blanco will play an attacking midfield role and will be responsible for coordinating Mexico's offense and creating as many goal scoring opportunities as possible.

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

World Cup Teams- France

France should have gone into Group A as the team to beat beat after two straight friendly losses their chances of going far don't seem too good. France is going to rely heavily on their three star players, Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka, and Franck Ribery. The trio play their club soccer at FC Barcelona, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, respectively. They have all been experiencing pretty good season and they will all be hoping to carry that good from into the World Cup this summer. Their weakness is going to be in the defense. There is not much coordination in the back because France only has one true central defender, William Gallas. In order for them to have any chance at this year's finals, France is going to need to find a new partner for Gallas to play with.

Monday, March 8, 2010

World Cup Teams- Uruguay

Uruguay is the second team in Group A. They hosted the very first World Cup back in 1930. For this coming world cup there are not really seen as big competitors. They barely qualified after having to beat Costa Rica in a playoff game. While they probably will not make it out of the group stage it will still be entertaining to watch them play. Their defense is not that good so we will probably see quite a few goals scored on them. On the offensive side of things much is to be expected of their star striker, Diego Forlan. He has been playing well with his club team in Spain, Atletico Madrid, over the past few seasons so he will be doing as much as he can to prove that he can compete with the best; possibly looking to gain the interest of some of the top clubs in Europe.

World Cup Teams - South Africa

I've decided that for the rest of my blogs I am going to write about the teams that are participating in this summer's World Cup in South Africa. The first team I am going to write about is South Africa. They are the host country and will be playing in Group A along with France, Uruguay, and Mexico. Historically the host country has done well when playing in the World Cup, usually making it to at least the quarterfinals. It is going to be hard for South Africa to match this feat though. They only have one big name player, Steven Pienaar who plays for Everton in the English Premiership. As an offensive midfielder he will have a lot of responsibility on the attacking side, especially since they will have to play three teams that are expected to score a lot of goals.

World Cup

There are ninety nine day left until the World Cup starts in South Africa. I can't wait. Today was a little warm up for the tournament. It was an international friendly day and I was able to watch the USA play the Netherlands and then Spain versus France. Later tonight I am going to watch Mexico take on Norway at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Hopefully Mexico will win because the USA lost their game 2-1. The second goal was a bit unlucky because the shot from the Dutch player took a big deflection off an American defender and out goalie was wrong footed and unfortunately had no chance to make a save. The second goal came pretty late, at about the seventy minute mark, but we still got a couple of good chances to tie the game up after going down. It wasn't the best game but I think that it was a good game for some of the younger players on the team to get experience playing against one of the best teams in the world. The Netherlands are currently ranked third in the world behind Spain, first, and Brazil, second.

Bruises

Last night I played indoor soccer at the Whittemore Center and this morning I woke up and my legs and back absolutely killed. I got hacked down about three times and took a hit straight to the shin which was the source of the most pain. I've been trying to get back in shape because I might try out for the school's team in the spring. Basically I've just been running because the group that I played had been playing at five, when I have class so I hadn't been able to make it. Luckily they started to play at six so I can start playing two or three times a week. Supposedly the try outs are after spring break so I still have some time to get back into shape.

Two More Weeks

Another Monday, another week of class, stress, and work. At least there are only two weeks left until vacation though. I haven't decided what to do yet. I kind of just want to stay home and relax and spend time with my family. A couple of my friends want to go to Myrtle Beach for a few days. I know that would probably be a lot of fun but it does involve a lot of driving and probably quite a bit of money that I probably shouldn't be spending. Depending on how much the trip will cost I'll probably try to go down for three or maybe four days. Hopefully the weather will be a lot better than it has been here!

No Sleep

I couldn't sleep last night and I don't really know why. I think it was just because of some stress. I had a lot of work to do this week and I have a test today and tomorrow. Luckily I don't have class after English so I was able to go back to my room and sleep for another couple of hours, so I'm not too tired. At least it's the weekend though so I will be able to blow of some steam and catch up on my sleep. It's weird to think that people consider Thursday the start of the weekend at college. I guess everyone must just be so stressed after four days of classes that they just always need a three day weekend, two days just isn't enough anymore.

Rainy Days

Rainy days are the worst. They are just so boring. I just feel like sitting around and not doing anything. It has helped me get some work done though, since I haven't really wanted to leave my room except for my classes this morning. I did decided to skip the library though since I decided it wasn't worth the walk in the rain. Even the the walk to Philbrook was awful and that is just outside my dorm. I wanted to walk on the brick path so I would not have to walk on the mud/ice but I could not even do that because there was a puddle that seemed like it was a foot deep. So I had to take my chances on the ice. Luckily I didn't fall, but I sure was close. I really hope it gets sunny out again soon.

One more distraction

I didn't really know what to write about so I looked at the class blog to see if I could get an idea from there. I clicked on saw the title of Adam's latest blog, "Demotivational Poster" and I figured out what to write about, StumbleUpon.com. StumbleUpon is a website that literally lets you stumble upon sites all over the internet. All you do is enter some basic information about your interests, such as what music or movies you like, click the stumble button, and you are sent to a webpage. This is a great way to explore the internet because you come across things that you probably never would have seen before. The demotivational posters are just one of the many things that I have "stumbled" upon since I started using the website. It's a lot of fun and interesting to do but unfortunately it usually just ends up becoming another distraction from all the school work I have to do.

Monday, February 22, 2010

Monday

It's Monday again, time to get back to work. The weekend was pretty fun but unfortunately it's time to get serious again. This week I have three test, one on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On top of that I have a big computer project due for my MIS class on Wednesday, and we also have our papers due on Thursday. It's amazing how things just seem to sneak up on you sometimes. Last week I really didn't do too much work but looking back that seems like it was a mistake. From now own I think I am going to make a "to do" list with everything prioritized and I am going to make sure I stick to it.

Friday, February 19, 2010

Procrastinating

During the week I did not really realize how much work I had to do. I kind of just coasted through the week not doing much of anything. Now it is Friday and I realize how much homework I have to do for next week. I have our english paper to review again and finalized. My computer project for MIS is due on Wednesday. I also have two tests next week in my microeconomics class and my Ecology and Values class. I am a little behind in the reading for both of those classes so I am going to have to catch up on that. It looks like I am going to be doing a lot of studying this weekend.

Music

Today I discovered something called Music Map while I was on StumbleUpon. Basically it is a website that helps you find new music depending on your taste. It is kind of like Pandora but it gives you a lot more artists to choose from. For example after you enter the artist you like it gives you six to eight similar artists. If after listening to the new artist's music you decide you like it, you click on their name and it gives you six to eight artists that are similar to them so it really gives you an opportunity to listen to some artist's that you may never have listened to otherwise. I have already found four new ones that I like and I have been listening to them all day.

Snow, snow go away

Well as we all can see it we got quite a bit of snow yesterday and last night. It's everywhere now covering trees, streets, sidewalks, buildings, cars, and pretty much everything else outside. Everyone seems so excited about it. I can't wait for it to be gone. I mean I'll admit that snow can be fun but I'd much rather have it be gone. Everything gets harder with snow. Walking to class takes longer because you have to walk a little slower so you avoid falling in the slush. You have to navigate your way around tree branches so that if the snow randomly falls of the tree it doesn't get down the back of you jacket. I saw that happen to at least three people today, it was funny, but I'm sure glad it didn't happen to me. I can't wait for there to just be green grass covering the ground again.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Right Now

Today I am going to write about what is going on around me as I write this blog. Im sitting at my desk looking out the window at all the snow we are getting and wishing we had got it last night. My roommate is also doing some homework and listening to the song 90210 by Wale. To my left is my unmade bed with a pile of clothes on top of it. The pile contains a pair of jeans, sweatpants, shorts, a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, and two jackets. On my desk are my printer, laptop, speakers, all of their wires, my notebook, textbooks, a stack of printing paper, and some study abroad brochures. The song just switched to Doobie Ash Tray by Devin The Dude. My bulletin board has a reminder to reapply for housing, my schedule, and a sticky note just say, "BLOG" to remind me to blog every day since I forgot last week. It's 5 o'clock now so I'm going to stop writing this, pack my bag, and go to my microeconomics class.

Monday, February 15, 2010

Zoned Out

So I completely forgot about making a post to my blog last Thursday and Friday. I don't really know what happened I guess it just slipped my mind. I put a sticky note right in the middle of my bulletin board so I won't forget anymore. I hope it works.
This morning as I walked to class I noticed some squirrels in the little wooded area right outside of Christensen Hall. I heard some leaves rustling and I saw one running around and another climbing up a tree. I kept walking and then looked down and I was surprised to see another squirrel about a foot away from me. If I hadn't looked down I think I might have kicked it. I don't know if its is because people feed them or if they are just so used to having people around but these squirrels didn't even seem to care that I was walking so close to them.

Winter

I can't wait for winter to be over. I hate it. It has been so clod the whole winter. Maybe if we had gotten more snow it would have been better but we haven't really got any. It's snowing outside right now but I doubt it will really accumulate to anything. I can't wait for there to be no wind chill factor. Just cool breezes. No boots and jackets. Just sandals, shorts, and a t-shirt. I don't want to have to ask my roommate how cold it is outside anymore. I just want to be able to look out the window and see green grass and the sun shining.

The Library

I don't really know what to talk about today but I'm currently sitting in the library so I guess I'll just write about that. I'm sitting up on the fourth floor in the main room. There aren't too many people here so I haven't really been distracted by anyone talking. Unfortunately there is a vent that has been making a kind of rattling noise on and off since I got here about an hour ago. Luckily my headphones have been able to block out the noise. I've been listening to Collie Buddz and Slightly Stoopid While I have been working. Usually music distracts me when I'm doing my homework but this music is pretty chill so it helps me to relax.

Just Another Monday

Today was just the start to another week. Same old money. I woke up and went to my 8 am class. Then I went to get some breakfast, take a nap, and then a shower before my 11 am class. I ending up falling asleep for a little while in that class. I don't think the professor saw me but when I woke up I could have sworn that I saw about four people look away quickly as soon as I opened my eyes. I probably should have sat in the back of the room instead of the very middle. After that I went to the library, finished a surprising amount of homework, and then got some lunch. Then for the rest of the day it was just some more homework, the gym, dinner, and that's pretty much it.

Friday

For me Friday is a day to just chill out. I don't have an eight o'clock class to go to so I can sleep in. My first and only class doesn't start until eleven. Friday is the worry free day. I go to the library to do some homework but I don't have to worry about finishing it all because I still have Saturday and Sunday to do it. The gym isn't as busy as normal either because most kids are probably too tired or hungover from Thursday night to go.

Chat Roulette

The other night my friend and I were kind of bored and we decided to go on chat roulette. Our friends had told us about it during lunch earlier that day. Chat roulette is basically a sight where you video chat with random people with random people. At first I thought it was a little bit weird. We got on and went through the first couple of people. Basically it was a bunch of people like us. Bored college kids in their dorm rooms with nothing to do. There really were people from all over the world though so it was kind of an interesting experience.

UNH needs a bigger gym

Tonight I went to the gym and once again, it was packed. All of the elliptical machine's and the treadmills were being used and there were only a few free weights left on the weight rack. I don't think I have ever been to the gym when it hasn't been packed. I've tried going in the morning, during the day, and at night. I don't know how a university with 12,000 undergrads can have a gym that can probably only have 60-70 people at a time. I think it's time for the school to invest in a new gym for the general student body.

It's always cold at UNH

Today I got up and walked to my class at 8 o'clock in the morning like I do every Monday through Thursday. I noticed that once again I could see my breath and that my face and ears were cold again and that's when I realized something. I couldn't remember the last time I walked to class and it was warm outside. Then I realized that it's only warm while we are in school for about two months. September and May. Every other month it's either just too cold to wear shorts or just absolutely freezing. Now I'm thinking that I should have put a lot more thought into the location of the school that I wanted to go to.

HOCO Vs. Philly

Which is better? I moved into Christensen this semester after living in the lower quad first semester. The only thing I wasn't looking forward too was having to eat at Philbrook because I always thought HOCO was a little better. But after eating breakfast at Philbrook and some of the sandwiches at the new sandwich bar I'm not so sure anymore. I guess if I really had to choose one though it would be Philbrook because it's closer to my dorm, the new sandwich bar, and because even though it seems to get just as busy as HOCO, you can still usually manage to find a place to eat.
